My facebook has lot's more pictures and text/links and I update it regularly One of the more recent facebook pictures is of Richard Ely's "unplugged " black Laker clogs. No grinding, no machinery: what you see is what I cut, . I can do that knife finish for any style. I prefer it. In age of perfect soul less machine finishes I like to see the marks of the maker. Apart from pottery, it's hard to find People are no longer used to the notion of bespoke [made to measure]. If you look at any of the styles below or additionally on my facebook pictures bear in mind that you can have any colour with any toe style with any style of top: dyed soles, brass, steel or no toetins at all. You can mix and match to your hearts content and have a pair that is for you only, that is made to fit you with the options that you alone have chosen

Welsh Slipper £155 or with duck toe - £10 extra Total £165 + Postage The top two pairs are duck toed, more pointed, and ten pound more expensive. The third pair is of waxed kip, a traditional indian water buffalo hide, suede side out and rolled in black wax. This leather was the clog leather of the late victorian age. I still have a few hides. The fourth pair is round toed like the third but in a modern waterproof leather. The Welsh Slipper style was popular in Wales. It make economical use of leather and can be shaken off at the doorstep without undoing the fastenings. It may be fastened with buttons, clasps or laces. You can specify when ordering. |
